‘A world of new energy’
EDL is a global energy producer focused on delivering sustainable, off-grid and hybrid energy solutions in complex environments.
The challenge was to communicate technical expertise and large-scale infrastructure capability with clarity, while signalling a shift toward a more progressive, future-focused energy offering.
I led the development of a brand identity built around a dynamic visual system, centred on an animated logo mark of intersecting circles and radiating energy lines, inspired by the sun and the diversity of EDL's energy portfolio. The mark was designed to move, reflecting a company defined by energy rather than stasis. Extending from this, a layered graphic language combines the halftone expression of the mark at environmental scale, big landscape photography to convey global footprint, and a warm human presence through on-site worker imagery, balancing engineering credibility with approachability.
A typographic system, colour palette, infographic framework, and document templates unified the brand across five countries for the first time, from vehicle livery and print collateral to website and brand video.
An energy brand that feels both technically rigorous and unmistakably alive.
